Insulated Winter Dog Suit "Dark Academia Classic" | Plush Lined, 29 Sizes
This is the winter one. Not a raincoat with a warmer lining.
Same brown tartan suit on the outside. Underneath, two things the raincoat doesn't have: a layer of plush, and under that a thin modern insulation. Thin is the point. It holds heat without turning your dog into a walking duvet who can't bend.
For frost, wind and long winter walks. If you want autumn, take the mesh-lined Classic instead. It is a separate listing and it costs less.
What it does
- Plush lining over a thin insulating layer. Warm, and still light enough to run in.
- Membrane shell: waterproof, windproof and breathable
- Brown tartan collar in 100% cotton flannel, cut high on the neck in every size
- Hood
- Adjustable belt at the waist, so the suit sits properly on a lean dog and on a stocky one
- Antique brass snaps
- Full body, all four legs, closed belly
- Elasticated cuffs and an opening for a collar or harness
- Potty opening, cut for boys, girls or unisex
One honest note: the seams are stitched, not taped. In a long downpour a little moisture can find its way through the stitching. In snow this doesn't come up.
Twenty-nine sizes, six body shapes
A dachshund, a whippet and a french bulldog are not three sizes of the same dog. They are three different shapes. That is why a coat sized S, M, L fits almost nobody properly.
- A standard proportions: chihuahua, westie, jack russell, maltese, cavalier
- B broad-chested: pug, bulldog, french bulldog
- C large breeds: labrador, golden retriever, pointer
- D long back, short legs: dachshund, corgi
- E sighthounds: italian greyhound, whippet, greyhound, saluki, borzoi
- F spaniels: cocker, springer, setter
Sizing
Take your usual Bark&Go size. The winter pattern is cut with the plush already allowed for, so the numbers in the chart are the numbers.
Chest girth decides the size. Back length only confirms it. Measure the back to the base of the tail, not the tip. That is where most people go wrong and order a size too big.
A code ending in -1 (A28-1, C50-1) is the same length with a narrower chest, for dogs built lean rather than stocky.
Caught between two sizes, or a puppy still growing? Send us the chest and back measurements and we'll tell you which to take. We also sew to your own measurements when nothing in the chart fits.
Care
Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle. No bleach, no tumble dryer, don't iron the membrane.
