Waterproof Dog Raincoat "Monocolor" Mustard | Waterproof Zip, 29 Sizes

The zip is the reason this one exists.

Every other colour we make uses a standard zip. Mustard has a waterproof membrane zip: the rubberised kind, sealed along its length, so the one straight line running down your dog's back stops being the weak point in a downpour.

Everything else is the Monocolor raincoat you already know, in all twenty-nine sizes.

Twenty-nine sizes, six body shapes

A dachshund, a whippet and a french bulldog are not three sizes of the same dog. They are three different shapes. That is why a coat sized S, M, L fits almost nobody properly: too long in the back, too tight across the chest, sleeves in the wrong place.

• A standard proportions: chihuahua, westie, jack russell, maltese, cavalier
• B broad-chested: pug, bulldog, french bulldog
• C large breeds: labrador, golden retriever, pointer
• D long back, short legs: dachshund, corgi
• E sighthounds: italian greyhound, whippet, greyhound, saluki, borzoi
• F spaniels: cocker, springer, setter, cavalier

What it does

• Waterproof membrane zip, sealed along its length
• Membrane fabric: waterproof, windproof and breathable, so it doesn't get stuffy on a long walk
• Full body, all four legs, closed belly
• Elasticated cuffs and an opening for a collar or harness
• Potty opening, cut for boys, girls or unisex
• Reflective piping down both sides
• Light mesh lining for autumn, or warm fleece for winter. You choose on this page.
• Sighthound patterns come with a hood. Spaniel patterns come with a snood that covers the ears.

One honest note: the seams are stitched, not taped. In a long downpour a little moisture can find its way through the stitching.

Sizing

Chest girth decides the size. Back length only confirms it. Measure the back to the base of the tail, not the tip. That is where most people go wrong and order a size too big.

A code ending in -1 (A28-1, C50-1) is the same length with a narrower chest, for dogs built lean rather than stocky.

A or F? The same dog often fits both.

A33, A38 and A43 match F33, F38 and F43 body for body. The difference is that the F pattern has longer sleeves and a snood that covers the ears. A cavalier fits either one. Take F if the ears are the problem, take A if they aren't.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle. No bleach, no tumble dryer, don't iron the membrane.

Made and shipped

Sewn in our own workshop in Lviv, Ukraine, one to two days per coat. Delivery to the UK, Europe, the US and Canada usually takes 7 to 12 days.
