Dog Raincoat "Rewind" | 80s Colour-Block Waterproof Full-Body Suit
Somebody's dad had this exact ski jacket in 1989.
Pink, purple, teal, yellow and white, blocked the way sportswear was blocked before everyone quietly agreed to wear grey. We didn't tone it down for the dog version.
Open it up and it keeps going. Yellow mesh for autumn, purple fleece for winter. Loud outside, louder inside.
The harness opening
There is a hole on the back, bound in yellow, and a second one at the neck. The harness goes on under the suit and the lead clips up through the opening. That removes the choice every owner hates in the rain: a harness over the coat that soaks and freezes, or a dog you have to undress to hook up.
What it does
- Membrane fabric: waterproof, windproof and breathable
- Waterproof membrane zip, sealed along its length
- Raised collar, and it's the raised one in every size, not only on the big dogs
- Hood with a drawcord and cord lock
- Opening on the back for a harness, opening at the neck for the leash
- Soft belt at the waist, fastened with snaps
- Full body, all four legs, closed belly
- Elasticated cuffs
- Potty opening, cut for boys, girls or unisex
- Reflective piping and reflective details
- Yellow mesh lining for autumn, or purple fleece for winter. You choose on this page.
One honest note: the seams are stitched, not taped. In a long downpour a little moisture can find its way through the stitching.
Twenty-nine sizes, six body shapes
A dachshund, a whippet and a french bulldog are not three sizes of the same dog. They are three different shapes. That is why a coat sized S, M, L fits almost nobody properly.
- A standard proportions: chihuahua, westie, jack russell, maltese, cavalier
- B broad-chested: pug, bulldog, french bulldog
- C large breeds: labrador, golden retriever, pointer
- D long back, short legs: dachshund, corgi
- E sighthounds: italian greyhound, whippet, greyhound, saluki, borzoi
- F spaniels: cocker, springer, setter, cavalier
Sizing
Chest girth decides the size. Back length only confirms it. Measure the back to the base of the tail, not the tip. That is where most people go wrong and order a size too big.
A code ending in -1 (A28-1, C50-1) is the same length with a narrower chest, for dogs built lean rather than stocky.
The lining doesn't change the size. Both versions are cut on the same pattern, so take your usual one.
Caught between two sizes, or a puppy still growing? Send us the chest and back measurements and we'll tell you which to take. We also sew to your own measurements when nothing in the chart fits.
Care
Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle. No bleach, no tumble dryer, don't iron the membrane.
